Designer Homes photography - Fowler Homes Ltd by liz ellington

Proud owner of this newly built home by Fowler Homes had it immaculate ready for me to photograph, I barely had to move a thing. Love shoots like that, so I can concentrate on composition and lighting.

I use my Nikon D700 with a Nikon 14 - 24mm f2.8 lens for real estate photography. I have used this lens for the last 7 and half years photographying property and whilst you can't put filters on it because of its concave front element, it is tack sharp and ideal for this sort of work. I always use a tripod as frequently blend multipal shots to create composite images. Sometimes I create HDR images, but more often than not I layer different exposures and using masked layers, bring back detail in windows etc. I find the end result more natural than HDR. I like to use as much ambient light as possible with an exposure of 1/60th second or less to get that nice glow of inside lamps for the inside exposure and then take a second shot purely for the outside window exposure.
